Upcoming Photo Safari Trips

April 2019
  • Wild Spring Flowers & Waterfalls in the Great Smoky Mountains

  • THIS EVENT IS CANCELED

May 2019
  • Wild Spring Flowers in Tobermory, Ontario

  • This workshop will be conducted at the beautiful Bruce Peninsula National Park in Ontario, Canada.  Tobermory is about a 5-hour drive north from either Detroit or Toronto and, as such, the weather is several weeks behind Detroit with spring wildflowers.  We expect to photograph Calypso and Rams Head Orchids, Yellow Lady Slippers and the endangered Yellow Lakeside Daisy plus many other flowers.  This area is replete with photographic opportunities, which include natural caves, rocky beaches, gnarly Cyprus trees, dolomite limestone cliffs, waterfalls, lighthouses and much more.

June 2019
  • Northern Exposure

  • Join MPW for this two and a half day photo safari. Weather permitting, we will photograph at the Dark Skies park the Milky Way after dark.  Expect to photograph sunrise images of the Mackinaw bridge from the beach. We will travel to Tahquamenon Falls and Point Iroquois Lighthouse on Saturday. Sunday is spent at Fort Michilimackinac. We will provide instruction on landscape Composition techniques, the use of tilt/shift lenses (Nikon and Canon T/S lenses provided). Learn how to expose waterfalls to blur the water for a more realistic portrayal and making long exposures for not only photographing the starts, but night shots of the Mackinac Bridge as well. We will also spend time making environmental portraits at the local sawmill. Class size is limited to 10 students to insure an excellent student to instructor ratio.

October 2019
  • Fall Color in Maine

  • When you think of Maine, think of Lobsters, Moose, Lighthouses and Fall Color.  This 6-day workshop will divide time among the Arcadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Portland and Jonesport, Maine.  Photograph Lighthouses, spectacular harbors, fall color and fishing villages. 35mm, digital and medium format cameras are welcome.
